ð The finger test: how to tell if a plant needs water
Push a finger into the soil up to the first knuckle (about an inch / 2â3 cm).
- Dry and crumbly? Water thoroughly until it drains out the bottom, then tap Watered.
- Cool or damp, or soil sticks to your finger? Wait â tap Still damp and you'll be reminded in 2 days.
Schedules are estimates. The soil is always the boss â more plants die from too much water than too little.
